Some comments on what's going on here
Videotape Sleeves
All videotape sleeve scans are from my collection, except for a few which are from Ted Nesi's collection. I always buy commercially produced videotapes when I can find them, but some of the films in my collection have been taped off cable. For these films, I've been trying to come up with original ad art or poster art, a still or something. Every movie on here so far I have seen. At this time, I have no intention to cover any films I haven't seen, though I am looking for others who may wish to contribute information on films they know.
What is a Musical?
This web site is not intended as an intellectual pursuit of a definition for the term "movie musical." As far as I'm concerned, any movie with music in it qualifies for this web site, as well as a few movies with no music at all. This is simply a tribute, and hopefully a reference work, to my favorite movie musicals and movies with music.
Ratings
All ratings on this web site are by the four-star system. My ratings (or other contributors) are indicated on the first line under the title in the movie descriptions. Four stars is best, one star is worst. My criteria for rating a film is based solely on how much I enjoy watching it. So, at last, here are ratings based on the opinion of movie musicals fans!
Sources
My sources of information for cast credits, songs and composers are many and varied. The primary source is always the movie, itself. I often watch movies and take notes. There is a lot to be learned from the titles and end-titles. Many of the character actors and actresses I know by sight, and I'm learning to recognize new ones all the time. I'm even learning to recognize some bit part players.

Other sources include movie fan magazines, books, videotape sleeves, and anything else I can get my hands on. There is a bibliography of some of the books I have on the Judy Garland Bookcase page, though this list is always out of date - I buy new books whenever I find them. To assist in rounding out the minor players and some of the song titles, I've also used the TV Gen Movie Guide and the Internet Movie Database (both are wondeful resources!). I've even used a number of other fan sites (with permission), in some cases.

Accuracy is important to me, but in a compilation of this size, there are bound to be errors. Please take everything here with a grain of salt! I'm doing the best I can, but there is a lot of territory to cover. If you know of any errors or omissions, I would appreciate hearing from you!
