Don Ameche (1908 - 1993)
Given name: Dominic Felix Amici; born in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Very fine and likeable actor / comedian. Popular star of stage and screen, generally in leading roles. Appeared in numerous
musicals at 20th Century-Fox across from Betty Grable and Alice Faye. Also remembered for his popular radio comedy show "The Bickersons"
costarring Frances Langford.
Ameche worked mostly in television during the 1950s through the 1970s, but made a major film comeback with his Oscar-winning performance in the hit film Cocoon (1984).
