Richard M. Sherman (1928 - )
Richard M. Sherman and his brother Robert B. Sherman (below) began their music-writing career writing rock and roll songs in the late 1950s. They wrote a number of hits, including "You're Sixteen" and
"Tall Paul", before Walt Disney hired them in 1960. For the next decade, the brothers wrote some of the best music to ever come out of the Disney studios. To date, they have contributed more than 200
songs for some 27 films and 24 television productions and have received nine Academy Award nominations.

Child prodigy born in England. Moved to the U.S. while still a child. Pianist / composer, he worked with a number of jazz bands in the Chicago area until hired by 20th Century-Fox in 1938. In the early 1940s, he
moved to Republic Pictures, where he met Sammy Cahn. They worked as a team at Universal and MGM, where they had a long string of hit song scores. Later, Styne went on to Broadway.
