Buster Keaton (1895 - 1966)
Given name: Joseph Francis Keaton; born in Kansas. Legendary actor, comedian and producer. Began in vaudeville, then moved into two-reel shorts. He produced and starred in many two-reelers for Joe
Schenck, which were very popular. Schenck sold Keaton's contract to MGM in 1928. Arguments with management and alcoholism worked against Keaton, and the once brilliant actor/producer was relegated to
character roles at MGM. But, in the 1950s, Buster was back - this time in television. And he was back in film again in the 1960s until his untimely death in 1966.

Given name: Ethel Keeler; born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Dancer / actress / singer (primarily a dancer) on stage and screen; married to Al Jolson from 1928-1940. The first major dancing star of the
musical era; she was often teamed with Dick Powell, and starred in a series of early musicals including 42nd Street, Footlight Parade and Flirtation Walk. After her popularity
waned, she moved back to Broadway where she worked until the 1970s.

Given name: Eugene Curran Kelly; born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dancer, actor, director, choreographer; Gene Kelly perhaps did more than any other single person to shape the Hollywood movie
musical during the 1940s and 1950s. His innovations in dance style, imagery and production values put a fine polish on the art form that nearly brought the movie musical into mainstream cinema in the
1950s and 1960s. Most fans and critics agree that Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire were the two best male dancers in films of the Golden Era.
