Actress on stage and screen. Born in Hungary; sister of Zsa Zsa Gabor.

There were three Gabor sisters who moved to the U.S. from Budapest, Hungary shortly after WWII. They became very popular with the American public, and the tabloids followed their lives and careers for many decades. The sisters were: Magda (1914 - 1997), Zsa Zsa (1917 - ) and Eva (1919 - 1995).

Born in Missouri. Very talented actress / singer on stage and screen. Very much overlooked by MGM - she didn't get as many good roles as she should have. Married to Larry Parks, who was caught up in the McCarthy hearings mess, effectively ending their careers in Hollywood for some time. Betty came back on stage and television in the 1970s, most notably in the series "Laverne and Shirley."

Appeared in many films in the 1930s and 1940s. Though they generally appeared as a relatively small chorus line, there were many of them over the years and at any given time. In some films, the chorus line was large, in others small. The size varied, though certainly never included all of them at once. Most major studios had similar chorus lines, and many of the girls who were Goldwyn Girls also worked in other (non-Goldwyn) chorus lines). But the Goldwyn Girls were well publicized and represented possibly the prettiest group of girls in films from the late 1920s on into the 1950s. Many well-known actresses got their start as a Goldwyn Girl, including those listed below. Some of the films they appeared in (in different smaller groups, of course) are included, as well.

Kathryn Grayson  (1922 - )

Given name: Zelma Hedrick; born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. Married to Johnnie Johnston (1947 - 1951). Operatic singer (coloratura soprano) / actress on stage and screen. Considered by many to be the best soprano in the movies during the golden age. Miss Grayson retired from film after filming "The Vagabond King," 1956. Since, she has worked night clubs, concerts and stage musicals. Today she teaches graduate classes in drama and voice at two different universities, and still works benefits and some concerts (as of the late 1990s).
