Robert Young (1907 - 1998)
Given name: Robert Young; born in Chicago, Illinois; grew up in California. Began his career at the Pasadena Playhouse. Moved into movies in 1931, making his debut in a Charlie Chan movie The
Black Camel. Moved to MGM and played opposite Helen Hayes in The Sin of Madelon Claudet. He continued getting good supporting roles in critically acclaimed films, and moved steadily to stardom.
In 1954 he left films in favor of television and starred in "Father Knows Best," for which he was nominated for four Emmys, winning two. In 1969, he starred in "Marcus Welby, M.D." He
continued in films and on television until the late 1980s.

Roland Young (1887 - 1953)
Born in London. Best remembered today as "Topper" in the series of films by the same name. Attended Britain's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Began working on the British stage by 1908, and made his
American stage debut around 1912. Continued to work on stage in the U.S., and appeared in his first film in 1922 as Dr. Watson in Sherlock Holmes. Stayed busy in the movies until his death in 1953.

Born in Scotland; Mickey Rooney's real-life father (in fact, Mickey's given name is Joe Yule, Jr.). Began in vaudeveille, then moved into movies as a character actor.
Noted for his role in the "Jiggs and Maggie" series of films.
